Cleaning Carpet Stains Caused by Beer or Pop

Beer and pop stains are some of the most common household stains. Both type stains will be treated the same way, but whichever stain you have to clean up always do a test area, in an indiscreet location, to ensure your cleaners are safe for your carpet.

Spray the carpet stain remover onto the affected area; do not overly soak the area. Most stain removers come with a small brush that you can use to tap the stained area repeatedly to help get the cleaning agent deep into the fibers. Blot the area with a clean white cloth, always rotate and use the clean part of the cloth. Next rinse the area with cold clean water. Again thoroughly blot dry the area with a clean white cloth.

Finally you want dry the area thoroughly and the best way to do this is to use a blow dryer. Using a circular motion blow dry the stained area until dry. Do not use heat when blow drying your carpet as this may damage the fibers, most have a setting for cool air.
