Cleaning Carpet Stains Caused By Milk or Ice Cream
Life’s daily activities can provide a variety of situations and accidents. To help assist in handling your clean up duties we will provide a few techniques to clean some of the most common carpet stains, including those caused by milk or ice cream.
Milk and ice cream can be treated using the same approach. First apply a quality stain remover directly on the area, most come in a spray bottle. Tap the area with the brush included with the stain remover repeatedly to get deep into the fibers.
Follow this up by blotting the carpet with a clean white cloth. Next rinse the area with clean cold water and gently blot up the excess moisture with a clean white cloth. Finally dry the area with a hair dryer using a circular motion, make sure to set the dryer to blow cool air, (do not use heat).
This approach works well with most dairy products. Remember not to scrub the area as this will separate the carpet fibers which will cause permanent damage. If the area improves but there is still some stain markings, repeat the above process. Let the carpet dry out between cleanings.
